Tenerife is the biggest of the seven Canarian islands and is blessed with an extraordinary climate with up to 330 days sunshine per year. It is often referred to as the island of the everlasting spring. It has various natural landscapes - like the national reserve around Spain´s highest mountain Pico del Teide – great for hiking and recreational days out. Regarding the cultural aspects, Tenerife offers impressive museums and theatres in the historic towns of Santa Cruz and La Laguna which is UNESCO world cultural heritage. Along the south coast is a seafront of 13 km with numerous cafes and fish restaurants great for relaxing in and enjoying stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and La Gomera. There is a large choice of sporting activities like diving, sailing, fishing, paragliding and golf. Only the south of Tenerife hosts six huge golf courses with panoramic views. The south and north part of Tenerife is connected easily by a motorway.
